SecureAuth IdP General Appliance Information:
The SecureAuth IdP Appliance is currently built on the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Standard (64-Bit) platform and the Microsoft Windows Server Standard 2012 (64-Bit) platform. The SecureAuth IdP Appliance is available as a virtual or hardware appliance.


Note: The SecureAuth IdP appliance is no longer available on the Windows Server 2008 Web Edition (32-Bit) or the Windows Server 2008 R2 Web Edition (64-Bit) platforms. These versions of Windows Server are no longer available from Microsoft. Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard edition based appliances are available for a limited time.

SecureAuth IdP Virtual Appliance Information:
Every SecureAuth IdP Virtual Appliance is custom built for each customer and available via FTP download. It is available in one of the following common file formats.

  • VMware: OVA
  • Microsoft Hyper-V: VHD
  • Citix Xen Server: OVA

Note: For imports that require a different import format, conversion/import instructions will be provided at the time of the image download if available.

What Type of Virtual Appliance Will I Be Receiving?
A Windows Server 2012 Standard or Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Platform:
Microsoft Windows Server Standard 2012 (64-Bit) based appliances are available for enterprises currently using vrtualization platforms based on Microsoft's Hyper-V or VMware vSphere 5.0 Update 4 or greater only. All other SecureAuth IdP Virtual Appliances, specifically vSphere 5.0 Update 3 or earlier, can be provided on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition (64-Bit) while licenses are available from Microsoft. It is recommended that customer's with virtual environments upgrade to hypervisor versions which support Microsoft Server 2012 Standard.

SecureAuth IdP Hardware Appliance Information:
SecureAuth IdP Hardware Appliances are available with Standard Hardware and Advanced Hardware. Please consult a SecureAuth Sales Representative to determine and confirm your requirements.
